You will monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients, place orders within budget, and assess the quality of ingredients and equipment. Additionally, you will guide and motivate pastry assistants, identify staffing needs, and assist in recruitment and training. Maintaining a clean and organized cooking station while adhering to health and safety standards is essential.
To succeed in this role, you should have proven experience as a Pastry Chef or baker, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational and leadership skills. A willingness to enhance your professional knowledge and familiarity with dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free and sugar-free options, is important. A certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or a related field is required.
