Pattern Maker - Cape TownFull job descriptionCandidate should be based in or around Cape Town, or be in the process of relocating.The successful candidate will create patterns, apply grading, make markers and other system related functions, within a fast-paced denim factory.Critical Results:Measuring of patterns and samplesChecking samples for construction and against technical packWorking closely with the development team, production teams and operatorsChecking fabric shrinkage and applying correct shrinkage to patternPerform costings, ratings and gradingNest checking and marker gradingCheck fabric widthsChecking accuracy of pattern and pattern related problemsAssessing and eliminating quality problems arising in manufacturingComplete administrative duties.Follow and support the ISO, Health and Safety and Quality systemsPerform any other related duties as assignedMaintain departmental housekeeping standardsRequirements5-8 years previous experience within FMCG preferably in clothing and textile industryExperience with Shirts & Jackets is essentialDenim fabric knowledge is desirableNational Diploma in Pattern making and Marker making or equivalent qualification will serve to your advantageExperience using the Gerber system will serve to your advantageStrong communication skills both verbal and writtenHighly motivated and results drivenAble to work as part of a team and independentlyAnalytical and problem solving abilityMeticulous attention to detailSound understanding of garment constructionGood computer literacyExcellent time management skillsJob Types: Full-time, PermanentEducation:Diploma (Preferred)Experience:Gerber or equivalent system: 5 years (Preferred)Application Deadline: 2024/07/31
