Job Description
Job Summary Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant or similar role, specifically in the manufacturing sector.
- Deep knowledge of payroll best practices and South African payroll legal requirements.
- Proficient with payroll software (e.g., Sage, VIP Payroll) and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
- Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and comply with relevant law.
- Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
- Perform account balances and payroll reconciliations.
- Prepare reports for management on payroll activities and analysis.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll-related matters.
