Job Description
My client is looking for a Payroll & HR Administrator to manage and coordinate their end-to-end payroll function and provide HR administrative support for a large workforce of both weekly wages (250 employees) and monthly salaried staff (55 employees).This role is based in Germiston, Johannesburg East.Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls, including importing hours, processing earnings/deductions, and leave management.
- Maintain accurate employee data and records on the VIP system, ensuring all changes are timely and properly authorised.
- Perform regular payroll reconciliations, variance checks, and ensure payroll balances match third-party schedules.
- Coordinate third-party payments (e.g., pension, loans, garnishees) and ensure accurate reporting and submissions.
- Prepare payroll journals and reports for month-end and year-end processes, including PAYE and WCA submissions.
- Provide general HR administrative support including onboarding, terminations, incentive processing, and UIF documentation.
- Respond to employee payroll and HR queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Matric and a relevant payroll qualification
- 5 years proven experience in a similar payroll/HR admin role handling high-volume payroll.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, SARS, UIF, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in VIP Payroll and MS Office.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with integrity.
