Eastern Cape, Port ElizabethMonthly Cost To Company (Market related)Our client in the Electrical industry is currently looking to employ a Payroll Controller in Port Elizabeth.URGENT VACANCY - Candidate must be available immediately.Requirements:

  • At least 5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with NBCEI (National Bargaining council for the Electrical Industry) will be advantageous.
  • Experience and background in the construction field.
  • Drivers License.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of payroll systems with at least 100+ employees.
  • Fully computer literate.
  • Experience with UIF/EMP201 submissions to DOL.
  • Strong admin skills which includes follow up work with site personnel and supervision.
  • Ability to take charge and be responsible.
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
  • Compiling time sheets.
  • Request to supervisor for time sheets outstanding.
  • Provide spreadsheet for outstanding time sheets.
  • Payroll to be done on Intercode system, capture deductions correctly.
  • Report for daily report time and attendance from sites.
  • Request sick notes, reasons for absence and follow ups thereof.
  • Submission of sick notes received to NBCEI and do follow up.
  • Annotate hours as per time sheets received.
  • Maintain and update wage deduction sheet on fortnightly/yearly spreadsheet.
  • Ensure all deductions received has information regarding the reason for deduction.
  • Employees pay queries, investigate and give reason and correct where necessary as per standard and procedure.
  • Capture and update any new employee details on payroll including terminations timeously.
  • Capture hours for each employee including deductions, rate increases.
  • Print pay slips and capture info on A3 Sheet.
  • Submit completed A3 sheet for payment.
  • Changes made by management - to change on payroll and A3 sheet.
  • Print all pay slips and place in site sections at reception.
  • Compile pdf and send pay slips individually to each employee/site/supervisor.
  • Compile A3 sheet for pay queries and submit for approval - make changes on payroll and amend pay slips.
  • Compile wage file per site for payroll week.
  • Submit pay roll summary files to finance when requested - after each pay run.
  • Costing spreadsheets for fortnightly/monthly submissions.
  • Ensure all employees are captured as per NBCEI and deductions are captured correctly before roll over.
  • Complete and capture UI19 and deduction schedules for terminated employees.
  • Compile and maintain UI19 employee file.
  • Monthly individual UI19 to be completed.
  • Handle queries from DOL with regards to wages and UI19 forms.
  • Deal with NBCEI Council and verify hours monthly to prepare for payment by the 10th of each month.
  • Stay informed with any NBCEI changes update where required - prepare for approval and change on payroll system and spreadsheet where necessary (increase, levy, pension, risk changes/deductions).
  • Stay up to date with any site changes in order to ensure each employee are allocated to the correct site for payment and costing purposes.
  • General Administration.
  • Any and all wage related reports and updating of spreadsheets.
  • Leave paid and related for terminated employees.
  • Leave pays and bonuses at year end.
  • Ensure each employee on payroll does have a valid contract.
