Payroll Coordinator

Our client is currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join their team. Key Responsibilities:

Payroll:

  • Update salary lists, schedules, and payroll for new employees, resignations, on a monthly/weekly basis.
  • Execute fortnightly/monthly payroll processes, including updating reports, checking, and reconciling.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll reconciliations, queries, and reports to the Group Financial Manager for payments and reporting purposes.
  • Process and facilitate annual increase and bonus payments.
  • Manage other financial compensations or deductions (casuals, staff loans, commissions, etc.).
  • Address payroll-related queries (SARS queries, leave and salary administration queries, etc.).
  • Oversee leave management.
  • Submit SARS EMP501 bi-annual and annual submissions.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records by ensuring all documents are filed promptly.
  • Administer pension fund, provident fund, and medical insurance schedules.
  • Handle quarterly STATSSA reporting.
HR Administration Assistance:
  • Maintain records of employee data in both physical and database formats, ensuring all employment requirements are met.
  • File and scan employee documentation to promote a paperless environment.
  • Ensure Pension fund, Provident fund, and Medical insurance documentation is up to date.
  • Prepare induction documentation for new employees.
  • Assist with the onboarding process.
  • Undertake ad-hoc HR functions.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum Work Experience: 3 years work experience in a Payroll Coordinator role, not as a clerk.
  • HR, Financial or Analytical degree.
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems. (SAGE VIP, People Soft, Payspace etc.)
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Coordinator or similar role.
  • Proficient in payroll software and MS Office.
  • Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes and HR functions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
