Job Purpose
The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render a secretarial support service to the Head of the Department.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) plus an accredited secretarial diploma and/or administrative qualification on the level of NQF level 5 or relevant higher tertiary qualification (a certificate of completion should be provided); A minimum of 3 years experience in rendering secretarial/ administrative support services to senior management.

Key Performance Areas
Provide a secretarial and receptionist support service to the manager; Renders administrative support services; Provides support to manager regarding meetings; Supports the manager with the administration of the managers budget; Studies the relevant Public Service and departmental prescripts/policies and other documents and ensure that the application thereof is properly understood.

Knowledge and understanding of the following: Regulations, policies, prescripts and procedures; Financial Administration; Skills needed: Written and verbal; Telephone etiquette; Proven computer literacy; Organising; Reliable; Ability to act with tact and discretion; Ability to do research and analyse documents and situations; Self management and motivation.
Remuneration
R 308 154 - R 362 994 per annum (Salary level 7)
Note on remuneration in addition Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance,pension-fund contributions, etc)are funded or co-funded interms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
