The Herbicide Application Specialist will be responsible for the safe and effective application of herbicides as part of alien plant-clearing operations. The role ensures proper chemical handling, storage, and usage in line with environmental and safety regulations. The candidate will play a vital role in controlling invasive species while protecting biodiversity and ecosystem health.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct targeted herbicide application in accordance with alien plant-clearing plans.
Operate and maintain herbicide application equipment (knapsack sprayers, motorized sprayers, etc.).
Ensure herbicides are handled, stored, and disposed of safely and in compliance with environmental laws.
Monitor treated areas for effectiveness and report on progress.
Maintain daily records of herbicide types, quantities used, and application sites.
Identify invasive plant species and understand appropriate treatment methods.
Adhere to all SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) standards on-site.
Train team members on safe herbicide handling and application practices when required.
Communicate and coordinate with site supervisors and environmental teams to ensure effective project implementation.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Certificate in Herbicide Application / Registered PCO Certificate

in herbicide application, with field-based project exposure - Mandatory* Proven understanding of invasive species control and herbicide resistance management
Knowledge of herbicide types, dosage calculations, and safe mixing techniques
