Plant Manager - DurbanFull job descriptionLOCATIONNORTHERN REGION OR TAMBO PLANTQUALIFICATIONMinimum Grade 12 (Matric) qualificationA tertiary qualification in Production Management / Construction Management or Civil Engineering an advantage EXPERIENCEMinimum three years experience in production / manufacturing management, or construction management SKILLSApplicants must have the following: Sound verbal, written and telephonic communication skills in EnglishSound computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and CE)Energetic and flexible disposition, the ability to manage staff at all levels, as well as a high level of integritySound organizational ability and deadline orientatedAbility and willingness to work irregular and extended hoursAbility to work under pressure and as part of a teamKnowledge of Industrial Relations OTHERApplicants must have a valid SA Drivers License & may be required to work extended /irregular hours MAIN JOB FUNCTIONSThe incumbent will be required to perform various tasks inherent to the position such as: Conducting monthly stock-take of all raw materials and reporting on variancesEnsuring effective utilization of personnel, development of personnel through internal training and identifying additional training needsEnsuring that all employees conform to safety and environmental rules and regulationsEnsuring that delivered raw materials conform to quality and quantity specifications laid down by the companyEnsuring that all batched products conform to technical specificationsEnsuring that disciplinary and grievance procedures are followedEnsuring that suppliers meet necessary order requirementsEnsuring that Sub-Contractors or own drivers meet the necessary delivery requirements, including liaison with customers, appearance and upholding of company imageCompiling yearly budget and controlling it monthly and reporting on variancesEnsuring sound relationships between customers and the companyEnsuring a sound knowledge of new developments and future planning in his/her area of responsibilityEnsuring that company assets are being maintained in accordance with a planned maintenance schedule and that maintenance is carried out timeously, in conjunction with the Maintenance DepartmentChecking all customer sites prior to delivery to ensure safe and efficient access for trucksChecking all sites with pumping requirements to ensure planning is done correctly and liaising with the Pump DivisionEmployment of production staff in conjunction with Operations Manager and Human Resources Department REMUNERATIONMarket RelatedAPPLICATION PROCESSSCompleted , together with a copy of ID, CV & copies of certificate to be faxed / emailed to 086 758 3359 / jobs@metiersa.co.za
