Job Description

This person will be responsible for the entire manufacturing operation.Responsibilities:

• Actively engage in the End-to-End Sales and Operational Planning Process
• Work in conjunction with the Planning, Logistics and Sales to guarantee order fulfilment in line with customer requirements, cost, quality and time parameters
• Manage the entire end-to-end Production process for the Production Facility.
• Ensure that all Infrastructure is maintained to ensure optimal capacity usage and availability.
• Monitor the execution and maintenance of the ISO 22000 Framework of practices, processes, policies and procedures, standards and controls for application in Production.
• Assist with implementing, monitoring and complying with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 in Production.
• Ensure maximum efficient operations of equipment and machinery, as well as the care of plant and support equipment, through the direction of the Engineering team.
• Responsible for the purchase of necessary outsourcing technical and non-technical support services.
• Develops and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
• Actively manage relations with the union.
• Drive continuous improvement through streamlining and optimizing relevant operational practices, processes and systems.
• Ensure adherence to operational and financial frameworks of practices, processes, standards and controls.
• Ensure Adherence to all applicable Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Standards.
• Manage cost drivers and take the necessary action to mitigate financial risk and address variances and discrepancies.
• Ensure the right people capacity is in place and manage employee performance through effective and goal-directed people leadership Qualifications and Experience.
• Responsible for driving culture within the production environment that is in line with business strategic ambitions

Requirements:

• A degree in Industrial / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering NQF level 7 (Essential)
• Minimum 7 years experience in a production environment - FMCG
• MS Excel; MS Word; SAP; E-Mail; MS PowerPoint
• Proven track record in a Senior Management role managing all factory-related functions, including Maintenance, Production and Quality
• A proven track record of managing production within a high-speed packaging environment with a unionised labour force
