Job Description

This person will be responsible for the entire manufacturing operation.Responsibilities:

• Actively engage in the end-to-end sales and operational planning process
• Work in conjunction with Planning, Logistics and Sales to guarantee order fulfilment in line with customer requirements, cost, quality and time parameters
• Manage the entire end-to-end production process for the production facility
• Ensure that all infrastructure is maintained to ensure optimal capacity usage and availability
• Monitor the execution and maintenance of the ISO 22000 framework of practices, processes, policies, procedures, standards and controls for application in production
• Assist with implementing, monitoring and complying with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 in production
• Ensure maximum efficient operations of equipment and machinery, as well as the care of plant and support equipment, through the direction of the engineering team
• Responsible for the purchase of necessary outsourcing technical and non-technical support services
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs
• Actively manage relations with the Union
• Drive continuous improvement through streamlining and optimizing relevant operational practices, processes and systems
• Ensure adherence to operational and financial frameworks of practices, processes, standards and controls
• Ensure adherence to all applicable safety, health, environment and quality standards
• Manage cost drivers and take the necessary actions to mitigate financial risk and address variances and discrepancies
• Ensure that the correct people capacity plan is in place and manage employee performance through effective and goal-directed people leadership
• Responsible for driving culture within the production environment that is in line with business's strategic ambitions

• A Degree in Industrial / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering NQF level 7 (Essential)
• Minimum 7 years experience in a production environment - FMCG
• MS Excel, MS Word, SAP, email, MS PowerPoint
• Proven track record in a senior management role managing all factory-related functions, including maintenance, production and quality
• A proven track record of managing production within a high-speed packaging environment with a unionised labour force
