Job SummaryHire Resolve, a leading recruitment agency, is currently seeking a Plant Superintendent for their client based in the North West.The Plant Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring efficient production and adherence to safety and quality standards. This includes managing a team of operators, optimizing plant performance, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize plant operations to achieve production targets
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations
• Implement and maintain effective production planning and scheduling
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching and guidance
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Provide detailed planning for the area of responsibility in the plant's business plan
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production issues and optimize performance
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, ensuring customer satisfaction
• Implement health and safety and encourage it to become part of the culture

Requirements

• Grade 12 is essential
• Diploma or degree in Metallurgy/Chemical is essentials
• 3 years of experience as a plant foreman
• 3 years of experience in furnance section
• 3 years of experience as metallurgist is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental regulations
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Computer literacy is required
• Managerial, problem solving and budgetary skills
• Mechanical engineering knowlegde
• Plant processes to be aware of: milling, floatation, dryer operation, furnances, acid plant and converters
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
