Our client in the Hospitality industry is currently looking for a Pool Manager, in Sea Point, Cape Town.Responsibilities:
Oversee operational excellence at their upscale pool facilities - Including food & beverage services and outlets.
Manage a dedicated team and contribute to the success of poolside events.
Ensure the safety of guests through the implementation and enforcement of pool safety rules.
Provide lifeguard training and conduct regular emergency drills.
Assist in the maintenance of proper emergency and safety procedures.
Oversee pool maintenance, ensuring water quality, chemical balance, and regular cleaning.
Perform pool maintenance activities and coordinate necessary repairs.
Supervise pool staff, including Lifeguards, Attendants, and Maintenance Personnel.
Assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of team members to meet departmental standards and goals.
Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, Supervisors, and Assistant Managers in the Resortxe2x80x99s Pool/Restaurant.
Interact with hotel guests, addressing inquiries and concerns related to the pool area.
Maintain high-quality standards in food and beverage presentation, sanitation, and pool safety.
Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
Assist in conducting safety training and ensure certifications are up to date with state law.
Coordinate poolside events or parties, including planning and setup.
Manage the pool's budget, monitoring expenses related to maintenance, staffing, and equipment.
Assist in the implementation of long and short-range financial objectives related to beverage and PRD sales and rentals set by the Pool Operations Manager.
Provide ongoing training for pool staff on safety protocols, customer service standards, and industry best practices.
Foster a positive and professional work environment.
Ensure the cleanliness of the pool deck is always maintained.
Oversee the assignment and evaluation of work, recommending personnel actions consistent with team member performance.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in Pool or Aquatic Facility Management preferred.
Experience in Hotel or Hospitality Management is beneficial.
Certification in First Aid, and CPR required.
Additional Certifications in Pool Operations and Water Safety are advantageous.
Knowledge of and experience in implementing emergency and safety procedures.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to hire, train, and evaluate pool staff.
Experience in overseeing poolside events and coordinating services is valuable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with guests, staff, and other hotel departments.
Clear communication of safety rules and protocols.
Customer-centric approach with a focus on providing a positive guest experience.
Previous experience in guest services or a customer-facing role is beneficial.
Understanding of budgeting principles and effective management of the pool's budget.
Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards.
Ability to work flexible hours, especially during peak seasons or special events.
Capability to address and resolve issues promptly, ensuring smooth pool operations.
