Main purpose of the job:
Based in Johannesburg, the studies will be conducted in Soweto Community, Primary Health Clinics and in the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital Breast Unit

Key performance areas:
Assessing if and how to involve traditional healers in breast, cervical, prostate cancer community awareness and screening services
Expanding data collection and analysis of barriers and enablers to cervical cancer screening in Soweto primary care clinics
Exploring the breast cancer journey of very young women with breast cancer and their needs
Supervise a qualitative interviewer who will assist with data collection
Assist with ethics applications
Required minimum education and training:
PhD in Medical Anthropology or relevant fields
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
Have a friendly outgoing personality
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Good emotional intelligence
Familiar with the Soweto Community
Familiar with the Public Health System
