SUMMARY:
Faculty of Education
One-year contractA full-time postdoctoral position is available in the Faculty of Education in the School of General and Continuing Education, Faculty of Education, at the University of Fort Hare (UFH), East London Campus. The fellowship will enable an outstanding doctoral graduate to obtain research and innovation experience at a Higher Education Institution under the mentorship of established researchers. The fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis, considering the applicants' academic achievements, publication outputs and research potential, as well as the relevance of prior experience and expertise. The fellowship is available for a period of one year.POSITION INFO:
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Candidates should have a Doctoral degree in Education, with a focus on Language in Education issues
• Open to South Africans and foreign nationals
• Preference will be given to South African citizens, women in particular and permanent residents.
• Young and emerging scholars
• Successful applicants may not hold full-time salaried employment during the fellowship.
• Successful applicants must be able to relocate to the UFH for the duration of the fellowship.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

• Reside as a postdoctoral research fellow at the UFH and participate in relevant activities of the Faculty of Education, and the Department of Research and Innovation
• In conjunction with the host as well as other members of the host school, co-author a minimum of 2 units per annum in DHET-accredited scholarly journal articles or chapters in accredited/credible commissioned books

The successful candidate will be required to conduct innovative research and obtain evidenced- based empirical data on Language teaching and learning in South Africa.
