Job Summary Principal Engineer
Hybrid, Cape TownRequirements:

• A minimum of 5 years management experience on top of his/her development experience including experience with estimations.
• Must excel in solution design and creation.
• Architecture experience is required.
• Consultancy background preferred.
• Technologies: Python, Java, Scala, AWS, Golang, Kubernettes, Docker, Cloud based AWS, Gsuite, Slack, Jango, Rust, React, and nodeJS.
• Valid SA passport and willingness to travel internationally.
• Experience as a spokesperson or part of the development communicate is preferred.

KPAs:

• Lead solution and system architecture and design sessions, guiding clients through defining their needs, goals, and objectives.
• Incorporate a deep understanding of client and customer needs into our solutions, serving as a strategic advisor.
• Cultivate trusting and collaborative relationships with clients, working alongside design and other teams to achieve overarching business objectives.
• Establish and enforce development best practices, tackling the toughest technical challenges or delegating as needed.
• Uphold and foster our organisational culture while contributing to the evolution of the engineering discipline.
• Remove technological hurdles, identify, and address bottlenecks, and mentor engineering staff to support their growth plans.
• Build effective teams that emphasize abilities, growth, collaboration, and innovation, conducting regular one-on-ones and mediating conflicts within the team.
• Actively participate in external technical forums to stay engaged with industry advancements and contribute insights.
