Purpose of the role:

The purpose of the role is to be the overarching expert and owner for Component Rotables, Quality and Warranty Management processes providing support and guidance to site teams and involved stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement best practices related to the repair of major components and the management of cores - both for Fleet and for Fixed Plant.
• Develop norms for the re-usage of components, e.g. number of turns before replacement.
• Develop innovative ways of tracking rotables across all managed operations within Anglo American.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure the reliability and performance of rotable components, when required perform supplier assessments and provide feedback.
• Monitor support and where required improve the warranty management process effectiveness across all Anglo American managed sites and the Non-managed sites when requested.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure compliance with warranty terms and conditions, work with the suppliers to improve quality and performance of rotables.
• Support and provide guidance to maintain records of rotable item condition, maintenance history, and warranty information.
• When required participate and oversee the quality and conclusiveness of root cause analysis being performed both internally and externally to identify and address recurring issues impacting rotable life cycles.
• Ensure outputs from root cause analysis are linked back into the reliability continuous improvement process to address any shortfalls in our baseline asset tactics taking into account reliability block diagrams, asset strategy and OEM inputs and change management process is conducted appropriately.
• Develop sound working relationships with Stakeholders and conduct regular site visits in order to understand local conditions, planning and reliability process etc.
• Conduct community of practices with shared experiences, develop and share best practices and develop joint programs of work (Centre and Site improvements)
• Closely collaborate with Supply Chain on logistics specifications, develop work scopes which include transport and preservation requirements during transportation, receipting and storage/warehousing requirements for returning rotables and new replacements, provide guidance on preservation maintenance & contamination control requirements, participate in strategic demand planning with suppliers.
• Monitor the accuracy of and use of the Iron Man platform to ensure the data set contained is accurate.

Technical knowledge:

• Advanced understanding of the full mining/ resource extraction value chain and its key drivers - from the ore body through the extraction, processing, infrastructure and mining
• Advanced understanding of key technical concepts relating to MARC and warranty management
• Deep understanding of Quality Management principals and its application
• Strong understanding of Supply Chain processes in relation to warranty management
• In addition to English proficiency, Portuguese and/or Spanish language skills would be highly advantageous.

Experience:

• 5 - 10 years' experience required, with a proven track record of understanding the iron and demonstrating considerable operational experience in the field of rotable repairs.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline
• A postgraduate qualification (Masters / Doctoral degree or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline - advantageous
• Trade background and or equivalent practical and operational experience.

Certification:

• Registered Engineer and or equivalent certification and or experience.
