  • Signature Programmes - To drive signature technology assurance initiatives from a strategy, governance, risk & compliance perspective and managing risk expectations across all delivery phases.
  • Technology Governance - Lead the Governance and Reporting work across Vodacom South Africa as it relates to King IV by developing a strategy to ensure that all Technology BUs follow a Technology Governance Framework. Subsequently report on this to forums such as Technology Assurance Steerco, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committees.
  • Continuous Assurance - To drive the automation opportunities across technology to reduce the risk factor and standardise controls across divisions.
  • Controls Implementation - To successfully coordinate the effective implementation of robust compliance standards to ensure standardization and simplification across people, processes, and systems.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) - To fulfil the role of SME for Technology Governance, Risk and Controls requirements and initiatives within the Technology function.
  • Training and Awareness - To supply training to employees on all levels within Technology, promoting awareness of Technology risk and controls.
  • Leadership - Steer Technology Assurance initiatives through team leadership (project squad), defining project goals, communicating with stakeholders, and managing VSA Technology Exco expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - relationship management at a ME, CIO and CTO level.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Perform reviews on technology processes, systems, infrastructure, and network infrastructure across the Cyber Security and GITC environments with the aim of proactively enhancing the control environment.
  • Support and guide senior management on recommendations for closure of high-risk items.
  • Design and lead the implementation of controls across the Cyber Security and GITC environments within Technology and related processes.
  • Lead a team to implementation Continuous Assurance techniques across the Cyber Security and GITC environments.
  • Manage the end-to-end senior stakeholder relationship across Technology, providing proactive support and guidance to senior stakeholders (MEs, CIO and CTO) on the management of technology risks through robust controls.
  • Server as a domain lead and subject matter expert for end-to-end governance related matters within a specific Technology domain.
  • Process Governance and Quality - Design, implement and monitor policies, processes, procedures as required.
The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:Must have technical / professional qualifications:
  • Overall experience - at least 5-8 years
  • At least 5 - 8 years' experience in leading risk, assurance, controls, and compliance management in a technology environment
  • At least 5-8 years' experience in Technology Security or a Technology Audit function in a management role would be advantageous.
  • At least 5-8 years' experience in process definition and management
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
  • Providing proactive support and guidance to senior stakeholders
  • Governance and Reporting
  • Technology Governance in large enterprises (specifically KING IV)
  • Risk Management and control in a Technology environment
  • IT Audit, Risk or Assurance in large enterprises
  • Relevant Frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, ISO9001, ISO50001, SOX etc) preferable
  • Technical/Infrastructure controls knowledge is preferred of the following platforms:
  • Operating Systems (UNIX, LINUX, Windows)
  • IT Networks
  • Firewalls
  • Databases (SQL, Sybase, Oracle)

  • Grasping of technical concepts rapidly and the ability to articulate these concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
