Requirements



Relevant National Diploma in GIS or equivalent discipline Minimum of 8 years relevant experience Extensive experience in the understanding and capture of

electricity distribution records



Appropriate GIS courses and preferably exposure to its

application in the electrical utility environment.



Good interpersonal skills. Computer Literacy

Key Performance Areas



Supervise and undertake a full range of data collection, capture

and provision of services by applying applicable industry and



internal standards that guide the dimensions of data quality



associated with Geographic Information Systems.



Establish best practice and ensure that the directorate is able to

take advantage of advancements in spatial technologies in order



to improve efficiencies and service delivery.



Ensure accurate integration of data into existing databases, and

providing support to users of GIS services therefore promoting



effective and efficient use of spatial information.



Performs a data extract and dissemination service and ensuring

requested information is provided in an appropriate form to the



client.



Ensure information, advice or opinions on relevant matters is

made available and/or communicated through various mediums



and accurately interpreted through the provision of adequate



and clear explanation.



Implementing specific administrative and reporting requirements

associated with running a GIS unit.
