You will work closely with our senior privacy lawyers, members of the wider legal team, compliance teams, business units, and external counsel with a particular focus on assessing and mitigating the privacy risks and ensure that we provide adequate safeguards and remedies for the protection of our data subjects' rights. You will also be responsible for researching and monitoring the legal developments and methodologies in the field of data protection, especially in light of Schrems II and its implications for third party risk management and cross border data flows.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:Working with colleagues to help implement and maintain our third-party risk management framework, playbooks, policies, procedures, and precedents, including our Transfer Impact Assessments, Standard Contractual Clauses and Vendor Due Diligence.Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating data transfer agreements, contracts and clauses with our third parties, ensuring that they reflect our data protection risk appetite.Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of privacy laws and regulations that may impact the business and providing legal advice and guidance to our business units related to third party privacy risk, working with the Third-Party Assurance Service Team to assess responses from vendors.Assisting in the management and resolution of data protection queries, complaints, and disputes from data subjects, regulators, and third parties.Helping to develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs for our business, in particular our Procurement and Third- Party Assurance Service teams.Advising and responding to privacy issues raised internally by our colleagues and externally by our clients, partners and the public.WHAT YOU'LL BRING:Experience handling a broad range of privacy and commercial law subject areas in a large in-house organisation or a law firm setting.A solid understanding of the data protection and privacy laws and regulations in the EMEA region, especially the GDPR and the Schrems II case and its implications for international data transfers.An interest in and knowledge of the latest developments in Generative AI and Large Language Models would be particularly beneficial, as would exposure to financial services and technology.Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate legal risks and provide practical and effective solutions.A high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality, able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and care.Must be fluent in English with excellent written and oral communications skills to interact confidently and effectively with internal and external partners.A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.A keen interest and passion for data protection and privacy, and a willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge in this field.WHAT YOU'LL GET IN RETURN:Ongoing training and mentoring oppportunities to progress your career.A supportive environment where your hard work will be truly appreciated.You will enjoy a competitive salary and a generous benefits package, including health insurance, pension plan and bonus scheme.
