Job Description


PROCESS ENGINEER; ENGIE Kathu Operations (Internal/External)Main Responsibilities include:

  • Continuously analysis and reporting on plant equipment performance and efficiencies;
  • Continuously analysis review operational process controls and ensure adherence to operating procedures;
  • Optimization of plant equipment and process;
  • Provide inputs and support to the Operations & Instruments & Controls technical team;
  • Conduct Root-cause analysis / Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) following equipment failures and plant process deviations and production loses (i.e. plant trips and other inefficiencies identified and / or reported). Develop tools to review and track recommendations and analyze effectiveness of implemented corrective remedies / actions / recommendations;
  • Develop and enforce compliance to process related tests (performance based tests / OEM recommended / legal and or legislative tests);
  • Develop troubleshooting guides and Quality Control for processes and alarms / trips;
  • Support and Maintain Information Technology (IT); Cyber Security (CS); Software updates; Distributed Control System (DCS); PLCs and other plant Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA);
  • Participate in Plant performance and availability improvement or operations and maintenance cost reduction plans by highlighting defects in the Plant design or installation, proposing and implementing modifications to equipment. Attempt all possible actions of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high Plant availability. Identify operations trends & inefficiencies; identify root causes; recommend and implement corrective actions to support continuous improvement of the Plant operations;
  • Review and give inputs into equipment spare parts lists and recommend parts inventory and stock levels;
  • Participate in Plant scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds;
  • Take full control of processes during pre-shutdown and recommissioning activities of planned major / minor outages; breakdowns and return to services of critical plant equipment's;
  • Participate in preparing budget, work cost estimates, and contracts / services procurement;
  • Develop SoW; participate and give input / justifications for new CAPEX / upgrades specific to process or plant equipment optimizations and modifications;
  • Participation in regular meetings with HODs; Peers and subordinates to discuss work progress, schedules, problems, interferences, priorities, etc.;
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and continuously review repeated failures on CMMS (MAXIMO);
  • Lead and execute remedial actions and recommendations from RCA; Siemens product advisory bulletins; Outage reports; HSE; Cyber Security; etc;
  • Debug the SCADA / DCS and any other plant HMI / PLC systems and keep it updated
  • Make weekly all backups necessary to restart the facility from scratch
  • Ensure all IT and Communication systems run in reliable manner
  • Keep updated and sorted all technical information related to IT&C
  • Plan and perform required technical & administrative training to enhance the professional development; skills and succession planning
  • Compile weekly / monthly reports detailing performance & efficiencies statistics as per the Kathu O&M contractual obligations and compare with original design / commissioning reports (FATP)
  • Enforce SHEQ; ENGIE group policies and procedures, and ensure that all HSE measures and precautions are strictly considered and taken care of during the execution of maintenance activities to avoid any activity which might lead to Health Safety and Environment incidents / non conformities.
  • Ensure KOPS Cyber security status and compliance are on par with universal standards.
Qualifications:
  • BEng, Bsc or BTech in Procoess Control, Instrumentation & Control, Industrial & Chemical Engineering;
  • Driver's License
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in CADA/DCS/PLC's in Power Generations or Petroleum industry or GAS;
  • Hands-on experience in the maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and automation of control and instruments equipment's;
  • Experience in Industrial networking, communications and cyber security, HMI systems, VFD's Servo Controllers etc;
  • Experience with Industrial Control Systems both hardware and software and on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis(RCA)/FMEA;
  • Experience with Siemens PCS7 and Scheider PLC is advantageous;
Skills:
  • Highly proactive and self-motivated, capable of handling multiple tasks;
  • Team player, good interpersonal skills for subordinate development, team building and conflict resolution;
  • Good knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles and working procedures;
  • Proficient with Microsoft software's and SAP-PM/Maximo;
  • Able to write technical reports and procedures;
  • Good command of oral and written English is an advantage;
  • Setting clear direction and priorities and gaining support of others. Engages people and delivers plans;
  • Excellent in English;
  • Excellent computer literacy is required;
Remuneration:
  • The compensation will be market related
