Process Engineering Manager - South AfricaFull job descriptionResponsible for the feasibility studies of process mining projects, including concept origination, pre-feasibility and bankable feasibilityAssist in tender and proposal preparation, as requiredWorking closely with the Studies Team, ensure that feasibility studies, as assigned by the study manager, are completed on time, per the proposed timeframes.Undertake site visits to the Project location and areas for project sourcing.Identify local and foreign suppliers and vendors.Identify applicable local laws and rules.Generate specifications for enquiries on mechanical equipment from the Process Departments equipment lists.Compile and/or coordinate bills of quantities.Write up sections of the studies and tender documents.Liaise and communication with the client, as required.Conduct infrastructure assessments and costing thereof, which includes tailing dams, power plants, accommodation, roads, water supply etc.Compile tender documents for issue to prospective suppliersAppoint consultants in areas where specific expertise is required.Conduct risk analyses, as requiredConduct financial evaluations, including, grade, revenue, general running costs of the mining fleet, plant operating costs.Prepare and conduct a detailed hand-over of a study to the Projects Department once awarded the execution phase of the project.Assist in business development activities, as requiredFinancial and cost controlClient liaisonAbility to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlinesPromote team work.To actively pursue excellent Health, Safety and Environmental performance standards and to encourage all staff to achieve or out-perform the indicated HSE KPIs. Qualifications:B.Sc. Degree in Engineering or relevant diplomaAs a minimum, 7-10 years experience in engineering management within a projects environment.Knowledge, skills and experience:Good working knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera planning systemAdvanced MS Office skills (excel, word and power point)Advanced numeric skillsAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and interact with design office personnelGood English language and communication skills, both verbal and writtenConversant with the principles of capital and operating cost estimatingClear logical thinker, with the ability to make good decisions under pressureAbility to prioritise/balance multiple complex tasks and demandsAbility to think outside of the box for problem solvingAbility to ensure completion of assignment, despite obstacles and challenges.Personal attributes:High level of self-awareness, emotional maturity and resilienceGood interpersonal skillsCross cultural sensitivityAttention to detail. elationship Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
