Skills and experience required:
  • 5 - 10 years experience in a similar reporting and process improvement finance position.
  • Ability to and experience in building a reporting process function from scratch.
  • Experience in managing a process from start (record) to finish (report).
  • Change management experience.
  • Ability to function under extreme pressure due to a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience in a listed or multinational company is preferred.
  • Experience with high transactional volumes.
  • System and process savvy.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Task and performance oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Deadline driven.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Thorough understanding of process re-engineering.
  • Business and finance maturity.
Job description:
  • Managing the Data Management, General Accounting and Bank processing and Fixed Assets teams.
  • Managing the development, implementation and maintenance on the accounting systems.
  • Continuous Improvement projects in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead operational accounting.
  • Lead the development of end-to-end strategy.
  • Sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations.
  • Statutory reporting for group reporting.
  • Design efficient operational processes and procedures.
  • Data integration into systems.
  • Ensure accurate analysis, compilation and reporting of accounting data and revenue.
  • Track performance against objectives to ensure KPIs are met.
  • Drive continuous process optimisation by bench marking processes against industry leaders.
  • Identify and manage critical process success factors.
  • Identify opportunities for automation of process steps and data driven performance measures.
  • Conduct process reviews.
  • Approve or reject process deviation requests.
  • Responsible for overall performance of the team and assisting to improve the team on their training needs.
  • Participate in external and internal audits and special projects.
