The successful incumbent will report to the Engineering Manager.Key performance areas include, but are not limited to:Process Engineering:Responsible for the process analysis, design, implementation, and execution across the Adam Tas Cluster to ensure end-to-end efficient and optimal utilisation of resources.Mass & Energy Balances of all process to ensure accurate allocations and to track usage.Develop and present business cases.Development of SOPs for all processes that are operated by site engineering.Provide operational support by collecting, analysing, and interpreting data and initiating proactive corrective actions to ensure cluster performance adhere to set KPIs.Define critical process control points.Preparation of P&IDs and design documentation including plant layout designs.Project Management to support process optimisation.Identify and implement process improvements to support issues resolution and optimising production processes to eliminate losses, improve quality, capacity, throughput, and conversion cost.Implement and maintain a configuration management and governance process.Lead Hazard & Operability studies (HAZOP) as a structured and systematic examination of complex processes/ systems to identify hazards to personnel, equipment and/or the environment, as well as operability problems that could affect efficiency of operations.Conduct process capability and utilisation studies.Understand the manufacturing processes and technologies and work with maintenance and production teams relating to process capability and efficiency challenges.Work with project engineering and evaluate the impact of projects on current processes.Problem solving and technical guidance of the operational/maintenance teams.Develop and/or review detailed specifications for work to be placed on tender or quotation and recommend contractors to be used.Ensure compliance to OHSACT and all Heineken Beverages SHEQFS standards and procedures.Leadership:Build and lead a high-performing team, that is resourced right and has the right level of competence, that drive innovation and business success.Create a safe, positive, and supportive environment that will benefit both employees and the engineering team.Providing a safe working environment, free from hazards and risks.Manage performance and people development within department.Ensure crew complies and adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, work instruction and SOPs.SHERQ:Develop and Management of SHERQ systems (ISO 9001/14000/22001/45001/50001) in responsibility area.Develop and manage environmental legal registers. (River water samples, boiler treatment, borehole compliance, SANS241, air emissions, reclamation water, cooling towers, etc.)Ensure that all permits and local laws/ by-laws conditions are always met.Establish and maintain relationships with authorities to ensure company objectives in terms of legal compliance are achieved.Establish and maintain relationships with COE.Monitor and report on environmental performance (water, electricity, energy, carbon footprint, effluent) and ensure objectives and targets are met.Provide support during internal & external audits and other verification activities across the site.Maintenance & Utilities Management:Ensure that all stakeholders are supplied with accurate and reliable air, cooling, steam, electricity, water, wastewater treatment, etc.Responsible for all the legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements associated with maintenance execution.Managing and supervising the utilities and cellar maintenance team, set priorities, and provide technical advice to team as required.Ensure that all maintenance work is completed on time, within budget and in compliance with standards.Develop team goals and roadmaps for maintenance department aligned with site engineering strategy.Financial Management:Responsible for drafting the engineering OPEX budget for utilities and maintenance.Manage part of the OPEX budget for engineering and ensure governance.The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:Tertiary qualification BSc degree, B. Tech degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial)A Government Certificate of Competency will be advantageousAt least 5 years relevant maintenance, process and project management experience, preferably in a beverage or FMCG environment (including budget control)Computer literacy (i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, SAP-PM, etc.)Willingness to work outside of normal working hours, when requiredPeople management, performance management and leadership skillsSound written and verbal communication skills at various levels of employees.A self-starter with high levels of energy and motivationThe successful candidate must be innovative and drive best practices.The Companys approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
