Procurement Components Buyer required in Cape Town.
Have you worked on clients' product requests, interpreted product briefs, researched and procured various components or substitutes, managing the requirement and budget?
Our client based in Cape Town CBD requires your purchasing skills for obtaining best prices for components. Must have excellent Excel skills, experience with budgets and costings.
Salary: R25,000 negotiable dependent on experience.
Requirements:
4-5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, cost estimation, or project coordination
Experience in interpreting design briefs and developing production specifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management tools
Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting and cost control
Experience in preparing client landed cost estimates and quotations for projects
Ability to work with international suppliers and manage multiple tasks
Comfortable working across different time zones
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of shipping processes is advantageous
Experience with Adobe Illustrator is advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities:

Production & Supplier Coordination:
Track manufacturing progress at partner factories in China
Communicate with suppliers to ensure production timelines are met
Report on production delays and assist in resolving bottlenecks
Client Design Brief & Specification Development:
Assist in interpreting client design briefs for various projects
Work with the Project Manager to translate design requirements into clear production specifications
Ensure specification briefs are accurately documented and communicated to suppliers
Cost Estimation & Client Quotations:
Prepare cost estimates and quotations to clients based on project requirements
Analyse budget allocations and production costs to ensure cost efficiency and competitiveness
Assist in negotiating pricing with vendors while maintaining margins
Purchase Order & Documentation Management:
Process and manage purchase orders (POs) to vendors accurately and efficiently
Ensure all necessary documentation and approvals are completed
Maintain organized records of transactions, cost breakdowns, and supplier agreements
Project Coordination & Reporting:
Assist in tracking project timelines and milestones in coordination with the Project Manager
Prepare reports on production status, costs, and supplier performance
* Document issues, resolutions, and opportunities for process improvement
