A dynamic wholesale and retail company, specialising in fresh produce, meat and bakery, has a vacancy for a Procurement Coordinator.Purpose of the role: The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process of fresh produce, ensuring timely and efficient sourcing of fruits and vegetables from suppliers, managing stock levels, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.Brief description of Key Performance areas:

• Implement procurement plans for fresh produce based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and supplier capabilities.
• Daily order planning and liaise with growers daily on delivery and shipment plans.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize waste, and maximize product availability.
• Administration: maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, sales orders, and other relevant documentation.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication, prompt resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales, operations, quality assurance, and logistics, to gather information and align on requirements.

• Tertiary qualification in an applicable field, i.e. agriculture, supply chain management, or related.
• 1-3 years' work experience in similar field.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritise workload.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
