Job Description


PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo ensure optimal sourcing and timeous availability of quality goods and services to meet the Business Units requirements.BALANCED SCORECARD PILLARS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

  • Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
  • Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
  • Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
  • Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.
CUSTOMERS
  • Provide customer service and ensure customer satisfaction and competitive practice throughout the Samancor Chrome environment.
  • Resolve customer queries / complaints.
BUSINESS PROCESSES
  • Optimal procurement of the respective plant areas
  • Negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Execution and adjudication of tenders and site meetings
  • Daily purchasing
  • Creating Price List Agreements on fast-moving, high-volume stock items
  • process from spend analysis,
  • Tender process,
  • Adjudication and Price List Agreement drafting and finalising.
  • Expediting of open orders and RFQs
  • Maintain and enforce internal control and procurement procedures.
  • Assist Accounts Payable Department with Invoice Queries
  • Obtain savings through the procurement process.
  • Weekly buyer performance reporting

Knowledge
  • Demonstrate and apply an understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Stock and Rotables purchasing will be advantageous.
Minimum qualifications
  • National Diploma or Degree in Commercial or Supply Chain Management
  • 3 years relevant experience
