My client, a leading powerhouse in the banking industry, is looking for a Procurement Manager specialising in Claims within the banking sector.Based in Cape Town, this role requires a strategic professional with a solid understanding of procurement processes and claims management, specifically within a banking environment.The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in liaising with the bank, its subsidiaries, and stakeholders to ensure efficient procurement practices and claims handling.Key Responsibilities:Procurement Management:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the bank's objectives.
  • Source and manage supplier relationships to optimise cost, quality, and service delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor procurement activities to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Claims Assessment and Management:
  • Assess and process claims related to procurement activities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.
  • Investigate claims to determine validity and negotiate settlements as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to address claim issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of claims, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments, subsidiaries, and external vendors.
  • Communicate procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to stakeholders.
  • Address stakeholder queries and concerns regarding procurement and claims processes promptly and professionally.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of claims management processes and procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to support procurement strategies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
