Note that talent mapping is not an active recruitment to fill an existing vacancy but a process to identify & build a pipeline of potential external candidates who a] have the interest in working for BAT; b] meet the requirements of the role and c] will be contacted once suitable opportunities become available.LEVEL: Middle ManagementREPORTS INTO: Area Procurement Business ManagerFUNCTION: Operations - ProcurementThe Procurement Business Manager supports Area Procurement Business Manager to partner with senior local Leadership team to drive Procurement strategy in alignment with cluster and DRBU Strategy.Your key responsibilities will include:Business:

  • To understand customer/business unit sourcing requirements including their business goals, targets, initiatives, directions for their appointed end market
  • Deliver the aligned financial objectives from procurement sourcing processes for all categories (Directs, Logistics, indirects and Distributors)
  • Drive digital transformation and adoption within Procurement
  • To manage the customer relationship and all aspects of procurement related customer service for ALL categories goods and services for End Markets .
  • To manage the End -to-End Sourcing process for ALL category
  • To collate all relevant end market business unit procurement requirements (Demand Planning), providing the necessary information to ensure robust planning, budget and target setting.
  • Drive cost effective sourcing strategies to achieve best total acquisition cost while balancing the requirements of internal customers & Procurement.
  • To manage the local customer relationship for those categories being managed at end market level, shaping demand and compliance where appropriate.
  • Partner to deliver end market contracts in conjunction with Legal and relationship Managers thereby ensuring all contracts delivering the expected quality service and savings targets
  • Manager Supplier Relationship Management with key suppliers and global suppliers
  • Ensure compliance for active suppliers within EM and category
  • To ensure all contracts are agreed with the relevant business owners in alignment with BAT ESG (Sustainability) and EHS requirements.
  • Drive a professional and high performing sourcing team within the cluster, enabling appropriate training and development and managing resource plans for entities to ensure the skills and knowledge
  • Challenge demand and requirements and manage customer expectations to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the business units within the cluster are compliant with procurement policy and actively manage any compliance issue by ensuring a consistent approach using the agreed global policies, standards and platforms in all day to day tasks thereby mitigating BAT's exposure to service delivery and commercial risk through ensuring the delivery of robust end-markets contracts (commercial elements).
  • Effectively communicate Procurement strategies, process and policies to customers, to ensure compliance and engender a common understanding of each other's goals and targets.
  • Determine the scope, scale and impact of any new products or services required by the customer so as to communicate these requirements to the relevant Category Manager and Global/Regional Sourcing Mgr. where appropriate or to amend end market strategies and contracts as required to meet the customer needs.
Leadership
  • To build long term and strong relationships with EM key stakeholders
  • Establish relationship with key budget holders and EM stakeholders critical to the Sourcing Processes
  • To challenge demand and requirements and manage customer expectations to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • To communicate appropriate procurement messages regarding sourcing strategies, process and policies to customer and to ensure compliance
  • Responsible for approving supplier selection for categories managed at an end market level.
  • Create and nurture an environment in which ethical and professional business values underlie all facet of procurement activity
  • Identifying and managing the risk which exists whenever we contract for goods and services with suppliers and service providers
  • Lead team, providing coaching
  • Contributes to lead and Champion step change strategic initiatives at SSA level and/or APMEA Level.
Innovation
  • Drive Supplier Led innovation initiatives within EM and DRBU
  • To lead digital transformation for procurement processes thereby bring simplification and automation
  • Cascade and communicate Global/APMEA Procurement innovation pillar strategies to EM
  • To lead digital transformation for procurement processes thereby bring simplification and automation
  • Leverage IDT services and GBS capabilities to make use of Big data and data analytics tools
  • Promote IWS methodologies in Procurement
  • Drive continuous improvements to enhance security of supply, Quality and Cost for indirect Spend

Qualifications & Training
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant business discipline (Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement and/or Engineering)
  • 3-5 years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Commercial, Operations, Finance and/or account management
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience in End-to-End Sourcing process (incl negotiations and contracts)
  • Knowledge of the procurement processes, platforms, and policies
  • Experience in Managing Sourcing projects
  • Experience in financial planning, budget and cost planning
  • Understanding of key cost drivers to the business operations
  • Sound knowledge of corporate regulations and local legislation to ensure the creation of effective commercial contracts.
  • MCIPS /CIMA / MBA/ CA/Pr. Eng added advantage
