Job Summary Our client in Paarl, a manufacturing concern within the Food Industry, is looking for Procurement Manager to join their team. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Procurement Manage procurement of all applicable items required (e.g. raw materials, packaging materials etc) Ensure competitive supplier pricing Drive product development & provide procurement for raw materials Strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers to ensure low procurements expenses Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies Collaborate with key persons in different departments to ensure clarity of the specifications and standards expected from the company Liaise with other parts of the business and make strategic decisions relating to stock holding. Conduct monthly stock control meeting Forecasting Ensure analyst sends water and effluent samples each month Conduct current and future forecasting analysis, ensuring forecasting processes and methods are followed. Use forecasting to develop capacity plan Resolve potential shortages or surpluses of products by managing or adjusting inventory levels Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies Service delivery Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships Ensure proper supplier management in terms of pricing, product & service level agreements Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms Examine and test existing contracts, manage contracts for transport Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements check credentials, references from industry partners, etc Financial Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs (monthly meeting) Finalise purchase details of orders and deliveries Manage invoices and follow up on Purchase orders Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness and waste management Persuasive and influential REQUIREMENTS Minimum requirements: BCom degree in Procurement / Supply Chain / Similar A minimum of 3 years experience in a procurement role Experience in the FMCG industry is essential Sourcing experience Talent in negotiations and networking Background in scheduling, forecasting, procurement, and planning Experience in procurement - managing end of life cycle and absolute inventory Experience on ERP (enterprise resource planning) software, Syspro would be an advantage Own transport Skills and characteristics required of this role Good communication skills Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills Strong analytical abilities & reporting skills Detail oriented & extreme accuracy Financial acumen and data analysis skills Excellent decision-making skills Strong planning and purchasing skills Negotiations skills Excellent risk analysis and risk management skills Problem solving skills Deadline driven SALARY R20 000 R25 000 WORKING HOURS Monday Friday 08:00 17:00Cardoso RecruitmentRecruiter
