Procurement Supervisor

Job Description

Procurement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the procurement department, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services. This role requires managing vendor relationships, coordinating with internal departments, and maintaining inventory levels to meet the production and operational needs of the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of procurement processes, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Experience in



Vendor Management:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to secure the best possible deals. Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.

Procurement Operations:

Supervise the daily procurement activities, including sourcing, purchasing, and order management. Ensure that all procurement procedures align with company policies and compliance standards. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (such as production, logistics, and finance teams) to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and goods.

Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock-outs and overstock situations. Work closely with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient stock movement and storage. Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to support production schedules and minimize waste.

Cost Management:

Track and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality or delivery timelines. Implement cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes.

Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and delivery schedules. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and inventory status for senior management.

Team Supervision and Development:

Supervise and mentor procurement staff, ensuring proper training and development opportunities. Provide guidance and support to the team in meeting procurement targets and handling challenges.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and sustainability standards in all procurement activities. Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement and supply chain management.

Qualifications and Skills:



Education:

Matric Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.

Experience:



Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the FMCG industry. Proven experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts. Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.

Pay: R18000,00 - R20000,00 per month
