Product Development Scientist - Cape Town, Northern SuburbsFull job descriptionIdentify and source new raw materials through procurement.xe2x80xa2Complete costingsxe2x80xa2Develop and obtain customer approval for concept formulations.Coordinate sourcing, documentation, and testing of new materials.xe2x80xa2Conduct trial batches and coordinate with production.xe2x80xa2Compile stability testing protocols and submit trial samples to laboratory for testing.Evaluate test results and action accordinglyLoad manufacturing template on MESGenerate technical reports and transfer information to relevant departments.Assist in manufacturing initial production batches.Coordinate innovation projects with third-party manufacturers.Reformulate existing products based on customer briefs.Improve manufacturing processes and implement cost-saving projects.Adhere to GLP and cGMP standards, maintaining lab cleanliness.Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures.Adhere to health and safety policies, staying updated on industry trends. Essential:BSc Honours, BPharm, B.Eng., or equivalent degree.Intermediate computer literacy.Previous development and project management experience.Desired:MSc degree.Knowledge of cGMP/ISO/HACCP standards.Familiarity with stability testing, food and medicine acts, and validation principles.2 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in product formulation/development.
