Responsibilities:
Understanding and interpreting customer briefs correctly.
Follow through to completion of Meat and Brine customer briefs within given customer (including internal) requirements and deadlines.
Preparing own development samples for application work.
Updating and capturing formulatory information in SharePoint Systems.
Effective communication with Sector Head and Commercial in completing customer briefs.
Final product design and application, according to target costs and briefs received.
Preparing of final product and application ideas for presenting to customers, in conjunction with Innovations Development Chef.
Partaking in trials in production environment (internal or external).
Manage own projects.
Drafting of technical documentation and product specifications.
Determining shelf life of new commercialisations.
Maintain documents and records of projects, formulations and raw materials.
Provide technical expertise, advice and assistance pertaining to all Meat and Brine products and ingredients to customers.
Good knowledge and understanding of the current food legislation.
Accurately work under pressure.
Planning, execution and interpretation of sensory information internally and on behalf of customers.
Provide a monthly progress report on all active projects
General administrative tasksRequirements:
BSc/B.Tech Food Science/Technology/Consumer Science
Minimum 5-10 years experience in food industry
Understanding of food production processes
Meat & Brine product development experience as well as applications and processing
Computer literacy - Outlook, Excel, Word
Own transport preferred
Willing to occasionally travel for business
Flexibility to work with other food sectors
Presentation skills
Good communications skills
Cooking and culinary skills preferred
