Kantars Worldpanel division is searching for a detail-oriented and dedicated Product Dictionary Executive. Based in Durban, South Africa, this is truly an incredible opportunity to be part of our exciting vision for the future!

Roles mission

Our team is focused on products and barcode identification and coding, by following coding rules and standards to meet the needs of the business by ensuring that coding is complete, accurate and timely so we can provide maximum quality data to our clients. Were also making sure to keep improving our data quality by providing edits and communicating data queries to the necessary teams.

As a Product Dictionary Executive youll be actively gathering data or details about recently introduced items in the market, including details about new products, new brands, and SKU's (Stock Keeping Units), which are unique codes assigned to individual products to facilitate inventory tracking and management. This will make it possible for the market insights were delivering to our clients remain updated on the latest offerings in a specific industry or market.

Key outcomes

  • Validation of Product Dictionary (Masterfile).
  • Collecting Information on New Products, New Brands and SKU's.
  • Create internal codes for the new products and define all attributes for the related products based on the company standards and specifications.
  • Work in coordination with the other members of the team on product information and characterization to support the unit with relevant tasks.
  • Ensure delivery of data within the agreed time.
  • Knowledgeable on our scanning app and how our data is collected.
  • Understand and follow processes required for validations.
  • Provide daily/weekly stats in a timely manner.
  • Provide data edits from validation in a specified format within the required timeframe.
  • Ensure backups of your own work are saved on the network daily.
Key Capabilities

Your background will ideally look like this
  • Previous relevant experience with database management, data cleaning or validation will be highly appreciated.
  • Proven ability to identify challenges in data collection and find effective solutions.
  • Ability to manage and organize large sets of data and information efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting will be preferred.
  • Precision and attention to detail are crucial for accurately recording and documenting product details and specifications.

  • Enjoys actively looking for new and more efficient ways of improving processes, raising standards, reducing errors, and overcoming omissions.

  • Is highly collaborative and adaptable with the ability to work effectively within different cultural and technical environments.
