Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:Minimum:

Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant Technical / Engineering fields.
Extensive knowledge in optical fibres covered by International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) G.65-series of recommendations.
A good understanding of materials technology relevant to cable manufacture.
At least four years of working experience in fields relevant to the requirements of this job description.
A working understanding of optical fibre cable installation and testing techniques.
Experience working in ISO controlled development process.
Excellent knowledge of software tools (MS Office and CableBuilder).
Problem solving and hands-on approach.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

Experience designing optical fibre cables.
Knowledge in European requirements for Construction Product Regulations (CPR), relevant to cables.
Knowledge of emerging technologies in the field.
Detailed knowledge of relevant standards such as ASTM, ANSI, ISO, GMP, ITAR.
Working knowledge of German.
