A formal 3 years Bachelor's Degree/ National Diploma from a recognized tertiary institution, preferably in Commerce/ Business Science/ Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of product planning experience (previous product planning experience in the automotive industry will be ideal)
3 years experience in sales forecasting/ market research/ brand management/ engineering in the automotive industry

Sound understanding of the automotive market and competitive environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability and inclination to work in detail

A post-graduate qualification
Speak German or have extensive experience dealing with the German headquarters of a company
RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively communicating the company's headquarters requests/ queries to the Africa region's product team and vice versa
Analysis of market/ competitor, product, price and promotion developments within the motor industry and assessing implications for the brand by continually benchmarking the company's products vs competitor offerings and monitoring industry developments for threats and opportunities to propose appropriate action
Understand and communicate effectively strategic product plans to satisfy customer requirements and the brand's volume/ share objective in terms of rationale, range specification, target retail pricing, etc.
Presentation, for approval, of product plans to various forums (eg. PMM, product teams)
Collecting information and feedback from marketing on cross-divisional teams, forums, and other channels before finalizing product plans
Implementation of product plans as marketing representative in cross-divisional project team meetings
Planning and implementation of feasibility studies for potential models to be imported into Africa, including vehicle clinics
Planning and implementation of all passenger FBU models utilizing the Group MBV system
Maintaining the Group MV system to ensure all vehicle specifications are accurate
Maintaining and distributing vehicle specification information to the organization in illustrating key differences and similarities to competitor offerings
Coordinating and facilitating the launch management process to ensure all areas of the NSO organization and related systems, including compliance topics, are updated for relevant models
Implementation of the pallet planning from pricing and the series of finance applications into the MBV state sales program
Knowledge, maintenance, and application of the MBV system (state sales program)
