Pepkor Speciality, a division of Pepkor Trading, is seeking a highly motivated Product Planner to join our team. You'll play a key role in developing and implementing business plans that drive success for our Brands Ladieswear merchandise strategies.Inherent minimum requirements (skills & knowledge):

  • 3+ Years of product planning experience within relevant retail environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance/Commerce/Accounting/Statistics/Cost and Management Accounting
Knowledge of stock control and distributionKnowledge of the retail merchandise cycle with regards to BuyingAdvanced knowledge of G-Suite, Excel and the MS office PackagesKnowledge of seasonal and non-seasonal replenishmentsExcellent Planning and Organizing skillsStrong time management skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsKey duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies aligned with business objectives, considering factors such as inflation and profit margins.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product assortment, inventory levels, and financial performance.
  • Create and manage sales budgets based on historical data, market trends, and business goals.
  • Conduct in-depth sales performance analyses to identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.
Prepare and present financial reports on a monthly basis.Oversee and mentor a team of Store Planners and Trainees to achieve performance goals.Foster strong relationships with suppliers and retail stores.Collaborate with buying and design teams to optimize product selection based on market trends and customer demand.Conduct post-season analyses to inform future product decisions.Optimize inventory levels to balance stock availability and markdown risks. * Proactively manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) to ensure financial targets are met.Applicants will need to demonstrate their consistent record of determination and drive, to demonstrate their interpersonal and communication skills at all levels in the Company, and a value system that embraces the brand values, vision, and strategy.This position is based at our Bellville Office, Cape Town and will report to the Planning Manager.
