A position has become available at a global Power Transmission company. We are looking for a Product Specialist, an Electronics sales driven candidate to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have experience with Control Systems/Automation. In-depth knowledge of the controls of the industrial processes using PLCs, VSDs and other programming devices, an understanding of the elements of torque, speed, and power and how they interrelate both from a mechanical and electrical perspective.Position details:Type: Permanent

Primary Purpose: The position of Product Specialist Electronics has been created for the service of the electronic products already in existence and to support the development of the new applications as they are identified. Manage and develop new business in the industrial automation sector.Job description / core competencies:Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:- Assistance with the management of telephone and on-site commissioning.- Handling of incoming technical calls and providing online technical support.- Interfacing with customers and client personnel ensuring each interaction is friendly and respectful.- Ensuring that all on site safety regulations and procedures are adhered to.- Ensuring that all documentation relating to site visits are properly documented and signed off by the client.Carrying our site visits with sales personnel to assist with:- Identification of application opportunities for automation products.- Assistance with the design of the control systems and selection of equipment.- Assistance with the preparation of the offer to the customer.- Assistance with the installation and commissioning of successful offer.- Where applicable assistance with panel design and construction Limits of authority:- Submission of quotations of value greater than R100 000.00.- Granting of credits and warranties without line approvals.- Purchasing of equipment without approved purchase requisitions.Key Performance Areas:- Maintenance of customer service levels in terms of on-time deliveries Maintenance of high-quality standards.- Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.- Build, maintain, and manage customer relationships.- Excellent communications.- Ensure that a professional approach is taken towards customer relationships.- Management of warranties.- Meeting delivery commitments.- Compliance to all company policies and procedures.Location: Johannesburg, GautengJob Qualifications, Skills & Experience:Minimum Requirements:- Must have Control Systems/Automation sales experience.- National Senior Certificate / Matric Diploma in electronics and/or electrical engineering will be advantageous.- Previous power transmission experience would be advantageous.- Previous industrial automation experience required.- Good communication skills, written and verbal.- Strong report writing skills.- Solution driven and ability to prioritize work.- Hands on approach.- Willing to go the extra mile to resolve breakdowns.Critical Success Factors for the Position:- An in-depth technical knowledge of the Companys products.- An in-depth knowledge of the control of industrial processes using PLCs, VSDs and other programming devices.- An in depth understanding of the elements of torque, speed, and power and how they interrelate both from a mechanical and electrical perspective.- A solutions-based approach to problem solving.- Commercial skills for the assessment of viable and non-viable projects.- Excellent communication skills.- Ability to multi-task and prioritise jobs.Company Description:
