Through our people, leadership development, services, technology and scale, Wabtec delivers better outcomes for global customers by speaking the language of industry.Product Support Engineer - Data AnalyticsJob Function: Programs & ServicesBusiness Unit: Wabtec Digital MineReports to: Support Manager, Digital MineLocation: Johannesburg, South AfricaWho will you be working with?Our Program & Services team at Wabtec Digital Mine, a rapidly growing services function in a Mining Technology business dedicated to delivering world class services to our clients.How will you make a difference?As a member of the Program & Services group, you will be responsible for supporting our Mining Technology products, focusing on using the data collected by the system to provide analysis and recommendations to customers in order to aid decision-making and improved system configuration.You will work closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams, advocating for the customer in prioritization discussions and product functionality and planning reviews.You will be early adopters of new technology, with your feedback helping to shape ongoing development improvements.The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including mining, generation, and visualization, and will transform data into readable, goal-oriented reports that drive innovation and growth.What do we want to know about you?Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering)Proven experience with data analytics and visualization toolsSound knowledge of current network and communications technologyAbility to diagnose, troubleshoot, problem solve and manage resolution to technical system issuesExperience with Linux administration, Microsoft Server, IIS, and SQL ServerStrong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsCustomer service focus with a strong work ethicAbility to work unsupervised and manage multiple prioritiesCommitment to safety and compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislationDesired Characteristics:Flexibility with work hours to accommodate varying time zonesA current drivers license is requiredWhat will your typical day look like?Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualizationEvaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuraciesDevelop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning dataIdentify trends and opportunities for system improvements through analysis of complex datasetsWork with customer representatives to define and document system requirementsConfigure the system to operate according to agreed customer requirementsDeliver ongoing configuration changes to the systemSupport firmware, software, and configuration updatesPerform services as defined by SLAs, both in the office and on site as required, ensuring high quality documentation is capturedProvide first-line technical support for customers and partnersAdopt new software releases and provide feedback on issues or improvementsSuccessful candidates will be employed under local employment conditions and must already satisfy local employment/work permit and residency regulations.#LI-AB1Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the worlds toughest challenges.
