We deliver technical services and technology systems to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the De Beers Diamond value chain from exploration to diamond recovery. Activities include marine geophysical survey, sampling, mining, projects, engineering, technology development and maintenance. We provide specialized diamond processing and recovery technology for the De Beers Group Exploration and Mining Operations. We are the industry leader in marine mining practices resulting in the most successful and advanced marine mining equipment and operations globally.This role reports into the Technology Support DepartmentThe incumbent will be responsible for supervising, monitoring and executing the short-term activities required for the commercial provision of product support services from within the Technology support function to De Beers Technology clients, both internal and external to De Beers Group.Your role will include:

• Supervise and monitor the short-term activities by the Product Technicians in the designated support discipline e.g., on-site support / repairs & testing / commissioning / inspections, etc.(supervisory authority over direct reports on required activities)
• Execute delivery of technology support activities, through own effort, both locally and at client operations. (advisory authority to Technology Field Support Manager)
• Conceptualize solutions and execute initiatives to solve internal Technology Support function management challenges pertinent to the technical support infrastructure and personnel (advisory authority to Technology Field Support Manager)
• Day to day coordination of support activities, delegating daily tasks.
• Constructive and innovative solutions to internal challenges presented; effective and timeous execution of initiatives as allocated; continual BI initiatives
• Issuing Repair Quotes, ensuring correct pricing, and that all recoverables are captured.
• Monitoring and progressing customer Purchase Orders.
• Ensuring Repair Orders are dispatched in the agreed lead time.
• Answering customer queries regarding availability and lead times.
• Maintaining accurate records of Repairs and Service transactions.
• Reporting monthly financial figures.
• Maintaining a sustainable and flexible supply network.
• Resolving supply or quality issues with vendors.
• Reserve and receive stock items on an as-needed basis for repair
• Book in personnel time, material costs, and execute on invoices.

QualificationsFormal qualifications:

• Minimum qualification - National Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or Scientific

Additional requirements:

• Operational support of C&I or electromechanical products
• Commercial customer service in a technical environment (5 yrs minimum)
• Experience using common ERP packages namely SAP advantageous
• Experience in dealing directly with customers.
