The Western Cape Government is seeking to employ an individual to perform architectural activities on state-owned or leased buildings, structures, or facilities for the Chief Directorate: General Infrastructure. This position is based in Cape Town.
Minimum RequirementsA Bachelors Degree in Architecture (or relevant qualification); Compulsory registration with SACAP as a Professional Architect; A minimum of 3 years post qualification architectural experience; A valid drivers licence.
Recommendation Experience of contract documentation and administration, acts/regulations of OHS and relevant SANS.

CompetenciesKnowledge and experience in the following areas is required: architectural planning & design; producing construction documentation and administration of the JBCC 2000 PBA and NEC3 ECC contracts; proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project; optional experience with Autodesk Revit; legal compliance with various acts including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, National Building Regulations, and implementation via the South African National Standards; project management; financial management principles. Additionally, the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, self-motivation, conflict resolution skills, leadership abilities, effective communication, organizational skills, and teamwork are essential. Verbal and written communication proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape is required.
RemunerationSALARY: Grade A to C (OSD)
Grade A: R 687 879 - R 739 509 per annum; Grade B: R 783 693 - R834 993 per annum; Grade C: R881 121 - R 1 035 084 per annum (OSD salary determined as prescribed) .Note on remuneration: to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
