PERSON SPECIFICATIONThis exciting role demands a BEng (preferably in Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering coupled with at least 5 years' experience in the manufacturing processes, SHE and quality procedures as well as proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of Cold Products systems and equipment will be an added advantage. Our ideal candidate must be able to handle stress, shows excellent attention to detail when dealing with high volumes of data and employs analytical ability to coach and professional and skilled team members. We seek a proactive self-driven team player who is able to work independently, have high quality and safety standards and boast excellent communication, planning and organising skills. Strong leadership, good judgement, management skills and strong business acumen are of the utmost importance. The nature of the post necessitates physical fitness to cope in Cold Products area (stainless steel production lines).JOB SPECIFICATIONThe incumbent will be appointed as a Production Engineer in the Cold Products business unit reporting to the Area Manager. The incumbent will responsible to optimize the and continuously improving the production processes adhering to QCDSM (Quality, Costs, Delivery, Safety and Moral) framework and will ensure that business KPA's and KPI's are met. Functions of this role also include overseeing the three shift production teams, ensuring safety and quality compliance within the team In accordance with the relevant standards and cost effective effectively executing all production related activities. The successful candidate will be the custodian of Cold Products metallurgical processes through reporting, analysing and monitoring the production process and product quality. Recommending improved processes based on trials and responsible for ensuring the implementation of the corrective actions.
