Job Summary Our client, a stable Employer in the Packaging Manufacturing industry is URGENTLY seeking to appoint a seasoned Production Manager to join their team in KwaZulu-Natal. REMUNERATION PACKAGE: BENCHMARKED AROUND R700K PER ANNUM . MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE : To oversee the manufacturing process and making sure that production lines run without any issues and/or minimal downtime. To demonstrate expertise in management systems and develop solutions to maintain the quality of processes. KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS : At minimum a bachelors degree in engineering, Quality or related field. Experience in Quality Assurance Systems Strong knowledge of quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements Certification in quality management. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Work strongly with Cross Functional Manufacturing Teams in ensuring Scrap limits are not exceeded. Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluation. Monitor and assess supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards and contractual obligations. Lead quality audits, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up on identified non-conformities. Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance analysts and specialists Inculcate and drive continued efforts in ensuring a culture built on the 6 Sigma methodology. Implement effective quality control procedures to identify and address defects or deviations from specifications. Identify root causes of quality issues and work with relevant teams to implement corrective and preventive actions. Generate regular quality assurance reports to track performance and communicate results. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and development. Establish and execute quality control processes, including product inspection, testing, and validation. Ensure that Warranty Cost & Service call Rate Targets are met as per Objectives and Targets Ensure that the workforce is knowledgeable and compliant with quality-related policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, or other industry-specific certifications. Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System that aligns with industry best practices and applicable regulations. Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to prevent quality-related issues. Continuously review and improve existing quality assurance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Conduct training programs to educate employees on quality standards, processes, and best practices. Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to evaluate and qualify suppliers based on quality criteria. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Assess potential risks related to product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Analyse quality metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and report findings to senior management.
