Job Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Critical)
  • Diploma in Production Management, Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering or similar
  • Microsoft Excel Skills (Critical)
  • Knowledge of MS Teams
  • Driver License (EB)

Roles and Responsibilities
Main purpose:
  • Ensure that the company becomes the number one value-adding supplier of metal parts and functional assemblies to the local market & beyond.
Manufacturing
  • Implement and manage ME process as per allocated plan
  • Visualisation and management of accurate ME boards timeously.
  • Utilise all allocated resources within your control effectively at all times.
  • Compile the daily production schedule to achieve daily targets.
  • Communicate schedule to the team / ensure that they understand their production requirements.
  • Expedite incoming stock to support the production plan.
  • Manage and report on the MEs within area of control with the objective of reducing the downtime via the A3 problem solving methodology.
  • Monitor, report, and action any timekeeping/ absenteeism concerns.
  • Verify and submit timesheets. Verify and submit exception reports. Complete and submit RTWIs. Report on plant performance. Tend to concerns in area of responsibility and escalate according to the escalation process.
  • Update and maintain the PC boards. Conduct shift start up meeting in accordance with the Production Control Boards.
  • Carry out all other reasonable tasks/instructions.
  • Manage people in line with the RMC people journey.
Health and Safety
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements in line with the company policies are maintained in all areas of control.
5S
  • Ensure 5S targets are met in all areas of control throughout your relevant plant/ site.
Growth
  • Review all ME data and implement A3 problem solving process.
  • Improvement Targets to Budgets are met.
Quality
  • Ensure parts produced meet quality specifications and the outflow of defective components is managed and reduced.
  • Ensure all suspect parts are managed through the TQM process.
Delivery
  • Manage stock levels within the Min/ Max requirements to maintain stable supply.

  • Manage all teams within your production department (contracts/leave/pay/IDP)
  • Be results and deadline-driven
  • Good people management skills and management of staff.
  • Handle logistics, warehousing and stock of raw materials used in production
Attendance
  • Responsible for teams attendance to ensure that the company target is met (Since the role is to support production, your teams attendance is vital for the successful running of the plant).
People Development
  • Responsible for the personal development of your team in line with company strategy
  • Adhere to HR policies & procedures.
  • Conduct Performance reviews on all team members.
  • Conduct and manage IDPs on all team members (Ensure all team members are adequately trained to perform duties that are assigned to them. Training records are to be maintained).
General
  • Carry out all reasonable instructions/tasks (Carry out any reasonable instructions/tasks issued by the General Manager).
  • Uphold the Company Vision & Values (Act in the best interest of the company in accordance with all the Company Policy & Procedures).
