Job Summary Dedicated manufacturing engineer with 5+ years of experience in planning & designing processes. Seeking to improve product quality and reduce costs leading to savings. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Assures product and process quality by designing quality testing methods. Analysing and reporting on production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines and waste management. Be an independent thinker and keen problem-solver. Outstanding production engineers are able to diagnose problems, train staff, and provide effective recommendations Key attributes: People Management: Lead/support & guide teams under you Relationship Management: Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and other service providers. Be an effective team member, working with teams and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output. Key Tasks: Plan, manage and oversee production. Plan and manage plant and facilities. Design and implement cost-reductive changes. Develop and draught an improved production process! Maximise productivity of machinery and workers Assess and analyse current production methods. Determine which equipment will be used and where they will be stationed in the facility. Follow product specifications and quality control measures. Train, supervise, and manage production line workers. Ensure the production line is adequately staffed. Increase speed and efficiency of processes. Ensure all steps of production run efficiently. Develop and implement quality control measures. Educate employees on proper methods to operate machinery. Diagnose breakdowns and troubleshoot problems. Hire technicians to maintain equipment. Work within set budgetary plans for the project. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Communicate with clients and suppliers when necessary. Shows moral courage, openness, and honesty in all dealings. Good understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality Qualifications and Experience: Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or BTech Professional Level 5. Membership of an Industry related Professional body would be advantageous. Able to demonstrate experience of working within a manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD In depth knowledge and experience of, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Lean Manufacturing techniques such as Six Sigma Experience of New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production Experience of managing a team Salary Band: +-R60 R70k Salary proportioned to experience and qualifications.
