SCOPE / DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

• Plans, direct and controls the efficient operation of the Dettol Manufacturing and Packaging department to ensure that the manufacturing and finished product is of the highest quality, produced on time and at optimum costs.
• Ensure compliance of production operations (production and storage) to the requirements of cGMP, Global Manufacturing and Quality standards, SAPHRA regulatory requirements and company operating procedure (SOP's Establishes production standards of efficiency, minimum wastages and maximum utilization resources (machine, raw material and manpower) to ensure customer service levels, OEE targets and pack fill rates are met and improved always.
• Co-ordinate and organises the day to day running of the department to ensure continuity of supply by liaising with planning department on smooth supply of raw packaging materials
• Establishes safe working procedures for all areas of operation in coordination with the HSE department and ensure its implementation to keep accidents to the minimum and reduce downtime.
• Initiates continuous improvement projects for productivity improvement, increased yields, reduction in down or idle time and elimination of waste and rejects.
• Investigates the technical aspects of consumer complaints received via the QM departments.
• Notifies management of any GMP critical events or risks e.g. potential for product recall.
• Ensures housekeeping, hygiene and gowning procedures are adhered to in Dettol ASL facility.
• Maintaining compliance of the Dettol Plant with Global, local and regulatory standards.
• Support the Reckitt culture through demonstration and living the vision and values.

About the role

The position reporting to the Production Manager, is to co-ordinate and manage all the manufacturing and packaging activities of the Dettol Plant and to ensure that all manufacturing and packaging processes are carried out in compliance with the Reckitt Global Manufacturing and Quality System, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and local Regulatory requirements (SAHPRA). Furthermore, to ensure that the department meets its production requirements (in respect of safety, quality, volume, costs) effectively and efficiency always to meet customer service requirements. OEE targets, and pack fill rates. In addition, to continuously strive for improvements of methods and systems.
The position holder has direct influence on Reckitt healthcare products, it is of outmost importance that the Production Pharmacist must ensures that all manufacturing and packaging activities are carried out in compliance with Reckitt Benckiser Global Manufacturing, Quality Systems, cGMP and Local Regulatory Requirements.

The experience we're looking for

• B Pharma Degree and registration as a Pharmacist with the South Africa Pharmacy Council

• A minimum of at least 2 years of experience working in similar capacity
• Manage production and packaging of Pharmaceutical products
• Thorough knowledge of GMP and Regulatory and Production processes.
• Production planning/ scheduling expertise
• Analytical evaluation and problem-solving techniques
• Strong ability to introduce new ideas and concepts for continuous improvement
• Sound project Management skills
• Minimum of at least 2 Years in a supervisory position is advantageous
• Knowledge of Validation of plants, equipment, computers and processes is an advantage
• Good Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
