Job Description

  • Perform professional clinical duties at the Primary Health Clinic.
  • Provide HIV counselling and treatment (must be able to initiate treatment after counselling).
  • Perform other relevant duties as required by line manager.
  • Capture clinical notes on electronic medical system.
  • Quality control of clinic.
  • Ordering and stock control of medication and equipment for clinic.
  • Handle emergencies on campus.
  • Assist with first aid services at sport events on campus where necessary.
  • Arrange and assist with awareness campaigns regarding health and HIV on campus.
  • Coordinate and support students involved in the Peer Education program.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions for Peer Educators on topics of health promotion and prevention.
  • Develop training material in line with program outcomes.
  • Implementation of prevention programs and initiatives.
  • Present information sessions to the campus community.
  • Liaise with internal and external role-players.
Inherent Job requirements:
  • A Professional Bachelor's degree on NQF Level 8 or Diploma on NQF Level 6 in Nursing (general, psychiatric, midwifery and community nursing).
  • Postgraduate diploma/degree in Primary Healthcare Nursing Science.
  • Dispensing certificate (attach proof).
  • Completed the Nurse Initiated Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (NIMART) course (attach proof).
  • Proof of registration at the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
  • Minimum two (2) years' relevant experience in a primary health care clinic environment.
  • Proven knowledge of/experience with Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
  • A valid driver's licence (attach proof).

  • A dispensing license.
