Professional Nurses required in Bojanala X2 and Ngaka Modiri Molema X3

Key Performance Areas

Program Outputxc2xb7Serve as first point of contact to District VMMC site for logistics, supply, transport, demand and other relevant challenges
xc2xb7Ensure comprehensive package of VMMC services available
xc2xb7Maintain and respond to QA assessments
xc2xb7Chair/attend staff meetings
xc2xb7Ensure management of VMMC related adverse events
xc2xb7Provide age- and culturally appropriate group and individual counselling to clients within language of their understanding.
xc2xb7Conduct pre- and post-HIV counselling and testing as per most recent NDoH HTS guidelines
xc2xb7Ensure MMC targets for all facilities supported are met
xc2xb7Liaise with the Demand Creation officer and field recruiters to ensure effective recruitment of clients
xc2xb7Support establishment of new sites
xc2xb7Support and participate in demand creation activities
xc2xb7Align demand creation and clinical efforts to ensure collaboration in working towards targets.
xc2xb7Provide coaching and mentorship to Demand Creation Officers and Social Mobilisers regarding demand creation programme performance
xc2xb7 Ensure availability of suppliers and equipments
xc2xb7Develop and implement planning and reporting systems for the VMMC MOVE team to ensure that they perform and reach allocated targets
xc2xb7Ensure vehicle inspection is done weekly and report is submitted to line manager
xc2xb7Draft an annual operational plan
xc2xb7Working with a demand creation team draft a demand creation plan as required
xc2xb7Ensure stock and suppliers management/control and timely reporting of any missing or broken to line manager
xc2xb7 Ensure availability of suppliers and equipments
Clinical Outputxc2xb7Implement Voluntary Male Circumcision Programme (VMMC) at facility level in accordance with provincial and SA national guidelines
xc2xb7Ensure comprehensive package of VMMC services available
xc2xb7Maintain and respond to QA assessments
xc2xb7Ensure all Circumcised Clients are followed up as per SA/WHO guidelines
xc2xb7Management of VMMC related adverse events effectively
xc2xb7Obtain informed consent from clients by providing them with essential information as per the National Department of Health (NDoH) and PEPFAR VMMC/HTS guidelines.
xc2xb7Provide age- and culturally appropriate group and individual counselling to clients within language of their understanding.
xc2xb7Screen patients for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) as per current STI guidelines and Tuberculosis (TB) by asking the four standard TB screening questions and refer patients accordingly.
xc2xb7Ensure that the key elements of VMMC education are included in counselling sessions (i.e. risks, benefits, description of surgery, explanation of partial protective effect of VMMC procedure, VMMC being a permanent procedure, importance of knowing HIV status, and post-operative care).
xc2xb7Conduct pre- and post-HIV counselling and testing as per most recent NDoH HTS guidelines.

Linkage to Care and Treatmentxc2xb7Record personal and contact information of newly tested HIV positive clients in the linkage to care and treatment register.
xc2xb7Conduct Active and/or supported linkage to care and treatment of all newly diagnosed HIV positive clients.
xc2xb7Ensure all clients tested HIV positive are linked to care and started treatment and record on the register accordingly
xc2xb7Confirm that all linked clients have reached a care and treatment facility within a week of referral.
xc2xb7Follow up on all linked clients at one-, three- and six months into care and treatment.
xc2xb7Verify that all linked clients are still in care and treatment and adhere to their treatment.
xc2xb7Receive and process all HIV negative clients that are referred from HTS partners for VMMC services. xc2xb7Ensure all source document are available and well utilised by the Roving team.
xc2xb7Ensure utilisation of PPE materials by all staff at the facility.
xc2xb7Ensure clinical staff conducts Medical Circumcision in line with Minimum Surgical Procedure Standards.
xc2xb7Ensure adherence to Infection Prevention and Control Standards.
xc2xb7Ensure all follow-up and review of clients are conducted and documented accordingly.
xc2xb7Ensure availability and correct Supply Chain Management processes of Supplies, Equipment and Environment.
xc2xb7Ensure Emergency Management/Referral Protocol are adhered to.
xc2xb7Assist in verification of all data before reporting.
Monitoring and Evaluationxc2xb7Ensure proper collection of data in all supported facilities
xc2xb7Ensure completion of all VMMC source documents
xc2xb7Ensure data for all supported facilities is captured on Right to Care system and on DHIS
xc2xb7Ensure data is reported using Right to Care and DOH reporting tools and in line with the timelines
xc2xb7Ensure all client files are audited
xc2xb7Ensure monthly verification is done with DOH for accurate reporting

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience

Nursing Degree or equivalent preferred
SANC Registration

Desirable Required Qualifications and Experience

Nursing Degree or equivalent preferred
3 years experience as a Registered Nurse Community Nursing Health setting or Hospital setting

Two to three years working experience as Professional Nurse in the surgical environment.
