Job Description


Duties and responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of the functioning of the valuators department.
- Prepare documentation and computer files for external valuers.
- To perform valuations at interim and year end
- Assist Asset Managers with adhoc valuations.
- To provide support and assistance to external valuers.
- To review external valuations.
- Obtain valuation approval.
- Assist with adhoc queries from auditors and other stakeholders.
- Analysis of market trends, including demand, vacancies, expenditure etc.
- Analysis of comparable sales, with a view to determining capitalization rates, market
related values etc.
- Examination of title deeds, with particular attention paid to any servitudes and their
effect on the value, restrictive conditions of ownership, etc.
- Critical assessment of cap rates, rental levels and cost estimates pertaining to
properties.
- Prepare reports in respect of property valuations.
- Undertake research.Experience
- At least 3 5 years of work experience in property valuation with a strong knowledge
and understanding of:
o Property Valuation with experience in income producing properties.
o Discounted cash flow valuations.
o Valuation software, preferably MRI Global Valuations or similar.
o Commercial Real Estate and Property Management.Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Real Estate/Property Valuation.
- Be registered with the SA Council for the Property Valuers Profession as a Professional
Associated Valuer or Professional Valuer.Competencies and Skills
- Self-starter with initiative and the ability to work autonomously after having received
instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Hard worker with an ability to work under pressure.

- Hands-on and involved with an ability to see the bigger picture.

- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Report writing.

- Numerate.
