It will solidify our shift towards digital services, driving growth, supporting our core business, and paving a way to make Vodacom bigger and better! The programme will be delivered through 3 squads that will build Mobile platform, Beyond mobile platform and a single customer front end view.
As the Programme manager for our signature programme, you will spearhead the delivery of the signature programme across all business units using Agile methodologies. This role is crucial in driving cultural and operational change, ensuring delivery against timelines within allocated budget. You will be responsible for leading multiple Agile teams, delivering on multiple supporting projects, fostering collaboration, and delivering the required business outcomes.Your responsibilities will include:Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a signature Agile transformation programme across the organization, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Serve as the key advisor, providing thought leadership and guiding the organization through the overall delivery of the programme and the supporting projects.
Programme Management:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of the signature transformation program ensuring the programs are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the initiatives and continuously improve on processes.
Tribe Leadership support:
  • Lead and mentor a diverse Agile coach/es, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing among team members.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for senior leadership, providing regular updates on the progress of the transformation programme.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment, address concerns, and secure buy-in.
Change Management:
  • Drive change within the organization, promoting values such as transparency, adaptability, and customer-centricity.
  • Implement change management strategies to support teams in adopting new ways of working and overcoming resistance to change.
Risk Management:
  • Identify and manage risks associated with the transformation initiatives, and developing mitigation plans as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices throughout the transformation process.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead retrospectives and other feedback mechanisms to continuously refine and improve delivery and outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:Must have technical / professional qualifications:
  • Matric
  • 3-year bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Post graduate degree is preferred
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
  • Proven project/programme management experience (min 8 years) in leading large-scale transformation programmes in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Extensive background in program management with a strong understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead change in a diverse, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles and the ability to apply them pragmatically in different contexts.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging with senior leadership.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering business value.
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles and the ability to apply them pragmatically in different contexts.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
